“A REAL PLEASURE TO SUPPORT FERNHILL HEATH VINEYARD” SAYS LOCAL MP

Rose Bank Vineyard just off the Droitwich Road in Fernhill Heath has been described the local MP, Peter Luff, as “a real hidden gem.”
He was speaking after a visit to the two acre vineyard on a perfect south-facing slope and having inspected the four different varieties of vine growing there.

He met Richard and Rita Tomkinson who have been growing grapes on the site since 2003, and are now producing a range of dry white wines, a rosé and a white sparkling wine.

Peter was briefed on the bureaucracy surrounding wine growing – and has promised to write to Worcester City Council urging them to make it easier for wine producers to sell wines at the monthly Farmers’ Market in Angel Place.

Commenting, Peter said,

“I bet very few people in the area realise what excellent wines are being made from the vines at Fernhill Heath. I always try to support local businesses, but it’s a particuallry pleasure to support the Rose Bank Vineyard!”
