LUFF CONDEMNS NATIONAL GRID’S “CONTEMPTUOUS TREATMENT” OF FERNHILL HEATH

Mid Worcestershire MP Peter Luff today condemned the contemptuous way in which National Grid has treated the people and businesses of Fernhill Heath during the replacement of gas mains in the village.
The MP received a letter yesterday confirming that the works will now run until April 23rd.

Peter commented,

“I will be talking to those affected over the next 24 hours and then seeking an urgent meeting with the Chairman of National Grid.

“The work will have lasted over five months by the time it has finished – and the disruption caused has done untold commercial damage and inflicted massive inconvenience on the village and the wider community.

“What is outrageous is the failure of the company to communicate effectively with anyone to explain what is going on – including me as the local MP, despite my regular telephone calls to and correspondence with the company.”
