Government-Appointed Emergency Aid Team Welcomes Peter Luff MP
News Story

Evenproducts, an Evesham-based manufacturer of commercial and humanitarian water storage and supply equipment, today received a welcomed visit from Mid-Worcestershire MP Peter Luff.

The MP’s visit followed a congratulatory letter to the company from the Secretary of State for International Development, Andrew Mitchell, confirming the company’s invitation to become an accredited member of an elite national network of disaster response experts, who will be called on by the Government in times of international crisis, such as famine, floods and earthquakes.

As well as receiving an introduction to some of the company’s innovative new products, the busy MP, who strongly supports and promotes local business, was also escorted on a tour of the factory. It included the recently upgraded, semi-automated production line, as well as an opportunity to meet the director responsible for the emergency humanitarian aid division, Jenny Rohde, and members of the company’s design, logistics and export sales team.

Following a recently successful management buy-out, which is a tremendous vote of confidence in the future prospects of the company, new owner and managing director, Steve Robertshaw, commented ‘Evenproducts has been manufacturing on this site for over 50 years. We now have a strengthened management team to take the business forwards, and we are well positioned to supply solutions for both protecting and preserving our threatened natural water resources.”

Jenny Rohde added, “the demand for humanitarian intervention and support in response to global crises is increasing, and we have the infrastructure to provide a rapid response to assist in these emergencies, for which we have earned worldwide recognition.’

Peter Luff MP commented, ‘My visit to Evenproducts was another powerful reminder that the Midlands is still a thriving manufacturing region. Evenproducts is getting to the heart of some of the most important environmental and humanitarian issues that we face today’.

Evesham-based Evenproducts is one of the UK’s major water storage and supply experts; exporting half of its production overseas, which includes the design and manufacture of water storage, distribution and sanitation equipment for rapid-response to emergency humanitarian aid needs. The company also specialises in horticultural and irrigation supplies for UK growers, greenhouses and nurseries.
