CASH AWARDED FOR VILLAGE HALL
News Story

Stoulton Village Hall Management Committee have been awarded £500 in the 2014 Lloyds Bank Community Fund, an announcement that has been welcomed by the area’s MP, Sir Peter Luff.

The 2014 Lloyds Bank Community Fund is helping local groups have a positive impact in their communities by giving grants of between £500 and £3,000 to good causes.

Local people could vote for their local community projects, either in a Lloyds Branch, online, via SMS text message, or on Twitter. Voting closed in October, with nearly 1.5 million votes cast across the country.

Commenting on the news, Sir Peter Luff said,

“It is great news for Stoulton that the Village Hall Committee have been awarded this money.

“I know that the Committee intend to put this money towards providing covered access for the disabled entrance and storeroom, and to resurface the car park of the village hall. The hall plays an important part in the village, hosting community events, evening classes, clubs and activities, so everyone will be able to benefit from this money.”

Graham Lindsay, Director, Responsible Business and Community Affairs, Lloyds Banking Group said,

“It has been fantastic to see so many members of the public nominating and voting for good causes in the 2014 Lloyds Bank Community Fund. Looking at all the wonderful causes that the Community Fund awards will go towards is truly heartening to see. Helping our communities thrive in this way is crucial to us delivering our ambition to help Britain prosper.”
