Visting Parliament
Arranging Tours

It is the democratic right of every UK citizen to visit Parliament to watch laws being made and committees in progress. I would also encourage my constituents to come and use the parliamentary archives, take a tour of Parliament and climb up the clock tower to Big Ben - all of which are great ways of participating in the parliamentary process and learning about our nation's history.

The information below comes from Parliament's homepage and gives you more detail about types of visits that can be arranged.

If you have any further questions or you want to take a tour then please do not hesitate to contact my office.

School Visits

It is possible for classes to visit Parliament and take a tour of both Houses, as well as receive a specialised talk from the Parliamentary Education Unit, specifically tailored to the appropriate age-group. If you would like to arrange such a tour for your school, then please visit the following website for details: www.parliament.uk/about/visiting/educational.cfm

Attend a debate

UK residents can watch laws being made and debates in both Houses by visiting the public galleries when Parliament is in session. Tickets from your MP or a Lord are necessary to secure entrance to Question Time and Prime Minister's Question Time in the House of Commons.
